1 be in tears 含泪

　　当你想哭，泪水含在眼眶里的时候，就可以用be in tears.

　　You will not be in tears!

　　今后你不需要在流泪!

 

2 burst into tears 放声大哭

　　突然大哭，放声大哭都用burst into tears.

　　All at once, she burst into tears.

　　突然她哭得象个泪人儿似的。

　　

 

3 fight back tears 强忍着眼泪

　　看到back就知道有回去的意思，让眼泪回去就是强忍着，抑制眼泪流下来。

　　He had to fight back tears of rage.

　　他要忍住愤怒的眼泪。

　　

4 shed tears 泪流满面

　　shed是流出，散发，摆脱的意思。shed tears就是泪流满面。

　　never be jealous and never shed tears.

　　但决不要嫉妒，决不要流泪。

　　

5 be on the verge of tears 快要哭了

　　verge是处在边缘。眼泪的边缘就是马上要哭出来了!

　　Her hands were shaking. She was on the verge of tears but Paul didn’t realize that.

　　她的手在颤抖，她快要哭出来了，但保罗一点也没有意识到这一切。
 

6 reduce somebody to tears 使某人不禁流泪

　　He nagged and complained, and reduced Louise to tears.

　　他唠唠叨叨，不停地抱怨，使路易斯不禁流泪。
