best of both worlds

能一次在两个完全不同的方面都得到自己想要的东西。一般情况下，我们很难拥有best of both worlds：

You can either get up early tomorrow and get a lot of assignments done, or you can stay out late tonight and have fun with your friends, but you can't have the best of both worlds.

你可以明天一早早起完成你那一堆的工作，或者你也可以今晚和你的朋友玩到很晚(你就有可能完不成工作)，但是你没办法兼得。

但是也有很多幸运的时候，我们能够做到两全其美：

We have the best of both worlds here — it’s a peaceful village but we’re only twenty minutes from the downtown.

在这里简直就是两全其美——我们身处在宁静的村庄的同时还离城区只有不到20分钟车程。
