How much do you love McDonald’s fries? Do you love them so much that you would order a side order of fries to go with your fries? Well, that is no longer necessary at a McDonald’s in Japan since they added this new item to their menu, the mega potato. It is twice the size of a large order of fries, making it about three quarters of a pound. At over eleven hundred calories, it is the most calorie-laden item of any McDonald’s in the world.

The Huffington Post writes, “It’s an interesting move, considering that other parts of the world are trying to put the breaks on the obesity epidemic.”

To be fair though, the company is marketing the product to be shared by two or more people.

The new mega potato went on sale on May 24 across Japan, and costs around five dollars.
