    The Social Network
Mark: Did you know that there are more people
with genius IQs living in China
than there are people of any kind living in the United States?
Erica: That can't possibly be true.
    Mark: That is.
Erica: What would account for that?
Mark: Well first there are more people living in China.
    But here is my question:
how do you distinguish yourself in a population of people
who all got 1,600 on their SATs?
Erica: I didn't know they take SATs in China.
    Mark: They don't.
I wasn't talking about China anymore I was talking about me.
    Erica: You got a 1,600?
Mark: Yes. I can sing in a Capella group. But I can't sing.
    Erica: Does that mean
that you actually got nothing wrong on the test?
Mark: I can row crew or invent a $25 PC…
Erica: Or you get into a final club.
Mark: Or I get into a final club.
Erica: You know from a woman's perspective sometimes
not being in a capella group can be a good thing.
    Mark: This is serious.
Lawyer: Let me re-phrase this. You sent my client 16 e-mails.
In the first 15, you didn't raise any concerns
    Mark: Is that a question?
    Lawyer: In the 16th e-mail
you raised concerns about the site functionality.
Lawyer: Were you leading them on for six weeks?
    Mark: No.
Lawyer: Why didn't you raise any of these concerns before?
    Mark: It's raining.
    Lawyer: I'm sorry?
    Mark: It's just started raining.
Lawyer: Mr. Zuckerberg, do I have your full attention?
    Mark: No.
Lawyer: Do you think I deserve it?
    Mark: What?
Lawyer: Do you think I deserve your full attention?
Mark: I had to swear an oath before we began this deposition,
and I don't want to perjure myself.
So I have a legal obligation to say no.
Lawyer: Okay no. You don't think I deserve your attention.
Mark: I think if your clients want to sit on my shoulders
and call themselves tall, they have the right to give it a try.
    But there's no requirement
that I enjoy sitting here listening to people lie.
You have part of my attention.
    You have the minimum amount.
The rest of my attention is back at the offices of the Facebook,
where my colleagues and I are doing things
that no one in this room, including and especially your clients,
are intellectually or creatively capable of doing.
Did I adequately answer your condescending question?
