    Nicole Kidman
Y: I happened to interview Anthony Minghella
    a few months ago.
And we were talking about this logic
between one kiss and a few years of waiting.
You find that was convincing to you?
N: Well, to me? Yeah. I mean I have that...
I suppose I'm deeply romantic in some way...
    believing, waiting, patience.
    And, you know,
good things are worth waiting for.
    I mean while you wait,
you can have something exist in your head,
    and it can take on
a whole different life and meaning in your mind.
Whether that's a reality or fantasy in always bad time,
but I think it is definitely people in this world worth waiting for.
Y: And that was in your post-marital years
and suffering the failure of the marriage.
At that time, did you still believe in true love,
someone lifelong soulmate, things like that,
that every girl wants to believe in?
N: Yeah, that was something I did not give up.
I think that I was ever going to be able to find that again.
I think I hoped. Deep down I hoped.
    But I suddenly wasn't ready.
    I mean, for me, I don't...
you know, I think that you have to be careful
with who you share your life with
and you have to be careful with who you give your heart to.
So you step carefully into things.
Y: But once you get into a new relationship,
will you still throw yourself into it
without reservation or be more cautious?
N: No, I'm probably more throw so.
Y: In which respect do you still recall the moment
that your name was announced as the best actress?
And do you still recall the excitement even today?
N: I was in a shock at that particular time,
so I now, I've watched the tape back,
when people are showing me and I sort of look stunned.
    And at the same time,
I remember seeing my mother's face
and I remember seeing my daughter's face.
    That was probably
the biggest and most vivid memory I have of then.
Y: What did that award mean to you professionally?
N: I suppose it mean a combination of so many things in my life.
It was one of those things we say from this point I think,
my career changes and my personal life changes.
    Everything sort of shifted.
So it was a very catholic time for me.
