Our bodies are amazing. Although things go wrong at times, it's remarkable they work at all when one considers the complexities of their "operation." Don and Ya?l present some awards to a few of the outstanding components. [APPLAUSE]

    D: Good evening, Ya?l.

    Y: Good evening, Don.

D: Tonight we are here to present some very special awards to some outstanding body parts.

Y: Yes, these parts of the human body have really distinguished themselves. Shall we start, Don?

D: Let's. Our first award is for the body's largest organ. Would you like to do the honors, Yael?

Y: Thank you, Don. This is so exciting. This award goes to...the skin!

    [APPLAUSE]

D: Did you know, Yael, that if you were to stretch out an adult's skin, it would be about 2.4 square yards?

Y: No, I didn't, Don. That's pretty big! Our next award is for the hardest substance in the human body. Don?

D: And the winner is...Tooth enamel!

    [APPLAUSE]

Y: Wow! The enamel has to be very hard to protect the teeth for a lifetime of chewing.

D: Our final award this evening is for the biggest cell in the human body.

Y: And the judges say...oh, this seems like it could be a controversial decision since the biggest cell is not in every body, it's only the bodies of females...it's the egg cell!

    [APPLAUSE]

Y: Ah! It may be only in the female body, but every one of us started out as an ovum. Once a sperm fertilizes it, it can grow into a baby inside the mother.

D: And then it has it's own body parts.

Y: Well, what a wonderful evening it's been.

D: Yes, and what dedicated body parts we've honored.
