    词组讲解

    1. get after sb. ***一再要求,一再催促;责怪

    解 〈口〉短语动词;词义溯源:[跟在后面(after)]走;参照keep 〔stay〕 after sb.

    例 Could you get after Jimmy for not doing his house chores before going out to play with his friends? He listens to you more than me.

    2. get along on a shoestring / get along **勉强糊口;生活拮据

    解 习语;词义溯源:以[小额资本、零星资金(shoestring)]为生

    例 Igot along on a shoestring for eight years while I was saving up money to buy a home. I didn't go anywhere or do anything—no movies, no eating out, no vacations. My budget was very tight then, but now I have my own home.

    3. get along 〔on〕 with sb. / get along 〔on〕 ***与某人成为朋友;与某人和睦相处;取得进展

    例 Lisa's the kind of girl who can get along with just about anybody. She's so congenial, affable and sincerely courteous. So if she's having a problem with her dormitory roommate, then her roommate must be pretty terrible.
