1　and 意为“和，与”，可连接两个或两个以上名词、代词等，所连接的词作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

John and Jim are good friends. 约翰和吉姆是好朋友。

2　and 在肯定句中连接两个并列成分时，常表示“既……又”。

She learns dancing and playing the violin in the evening. 她晚上学跳舞，又学拉小提琴。（连接两个宾语 ）

3　and 还用于连接两个并列句，表示“和，而”。

I came by train and he came by plane. 我乘火车来的，而他乘飞机来的。

4　or 意为“或，或者，还是”，连接两个或两个以上的人或物作主语时，其谓语动词的单复数同or 后的名词或代词一致。

Mr. Lin or Mr. Zhou is going to attend the meeting. 林先生或周先生将要去参加会议。

5　在否定句中，并列成分常用or 连接，意为“既不……也不”。

He doesn't like singing or dancing. 他既不喜欢唱歌，也不喜欢跳舞。

6　 or 也可以连接两个并列句，表示“要不然，否则”，前一分句为祈使句。
