1　表示“灯”，是可数名词。

Turn off the lights when you leave. 你走时把灯关掉。

There are two lights in the room. 房间里有2盏灯。

2　表示“光线，光”，是不可数名词。

The room has poor light . 这房间光线不足。

The moon's light is bright. 月光明亮。

3　表示“点着，照亮”，是及物动词。

She lighted the fire. 她点着了火。

The lamp lighted the room. 灯把房间照亮了。

4　表示“轻的”，是形容词，反义词为heavy ；也可表示“浅色的，淡色的”，反义词是dark 。

She carried a light bag in her hand. 她手里拿着1只轻的包。

She wore a light green dress. 她穿着浅绿色的裙子。
