475　send, send for和send away

1　send 意为“寄，送，派遣”，指送出某物或派出某人。

I sent a letter to him. 我给他寄了一封信。

They sent him to the school. 他们派他去那所学校。

She sent him a card. 她给他寄了一张明信片。

2　send for 意为“派人去叫／请”，其宾语常为doctor, police等。

Send for the doctor, please. 请叫医生来。

Leave the house now, or I will send for the police. 马上离开房子，不然我就要叫警察来了。

3　send away 意为“叫……离开，解雇”。

He soon sent the beggar away . 他很快就把那个乞丐打发走了。
