这首“Sad”选自Maroon 5发表于2012年6月26日的第四张录音室专辑《Overexposed》，主唱Adam Levine称，《Overexposed》是魔力红乐队到目前为止“最多样化和最吸引人的一张唱片”。从歌名就传递出的伤感情绪随着忽高忽低的节奏缓缓流出，而他唱的这种伤感，估计很多人都曾经或正在经历。
Maroon5，中文译名魔力红乐队，来自LA的摇滚乐队，确切一些说是新灵魂摇滚。乐队由主唱Adam Levine，吉他手James Burgon Valentine，键盘手Jesse Royal Carmichael，贝斯手Mickey "Mickey" Madden，以及鼓手Ryan Michael Dusick组成，乐队在1994年成立时，五人都还是高中生。Maroon 融合了红色的狂野魅力，神秘热情，奔放烈爱再掺入摇滚力道，灵魂旋律及放克节奏，这样的红流泻着新灵魂乐性感风情的放克摇滚这样的红，在流行歌坛注入了一股新的颜色。
