教育部近日发布消息称，今年1月21日，已通过全国中小学生学籍信息管理系统，目前，各地正在抓紧落实。

China's Ministry of Education has issued student codes to all elementary and middle-school students across China and put them into the education registration system, after a trial run for a year.

经过为期1年的试运行，近日，教育部向全国中小学生发放了学籍号，并将它们录入到教育注册系统中。

教育部介绍，在完成首次信息采集(information collection)后，为确保以学生身份基本信息(basic information)为核心的数据准确，利用公安部人口信息管理系统及国家人口基础信息库对学生数据进行核查对比，对准确无误的，核发全国唯一的正式学籍号(student code)。

"学生转学(move to a new school)时，各环节均在网上进行，家长只需向转入学校提出申请即可，无需再因往返奔波耽误正常工作。"教育部透露，目前，最快转学只要9小时即完成(complete a school transfer in as little as 9 hours)，且记录在不断刷新，并将成为普遍趋势，大大减少了学生转学其家庭所需的时间和经济开支(save time and economic cost)。

The eventual release of student codes means the system has entered a new phase for application. It will play an important role in student's enrollment, school roll registration and graduation.

学生正式学籍号的发放，标志着该系统进入新的应用阶段，将在中小学招生入学、学籍注册和毕业等方面发挥重要作用。

The Ministry of Education hopes the new system could receive more public attention and joint efforts are needed to ensure the smooth and sound application.

教育部希望广大民众能更加关注新系统，只有双方共同努力才能保证申请工作顺利进行。
