China's ecological and environmental quality kept improving last year, according to a report released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Wednesday.

Some 338 cities enjoyed good air quality on 79.3 percent of days in 2018, up 1.3 percentage points from a year earlier, said the report.

报告称，2018年，约338个城市的空气质量达到79.3%，比去年同期上升了1.3个百分点。

The concentration of fine particles declined 9.3 percent year on year to 39 micrograms per cubic meter last year.

去年，细颗粒的浓度比去年下降了9.3%，降至每立方米39微克。

Water quality also improved, with 6.7 percent of surface water sections identified as the worst level, down 1.6 percentage points from the previous year.

水质也有所改善，6.7%的地表水被确定为最差水位，比上年下降1.6个百分点。

The ministry on Wednesday also released a communique on China's marine ecology and environment. Inshore waters of good quality accounted for 74.6 percent, up 6.7 percentage points from the previous year.

卫生部周三还发布了一份关于中国海洋生态和环境的公报。优质近岸水域占74.6%，比上年增长6.7个百分点。

Heavy pollution, however, was found in parts of Liaodong Bay and Bohai Bay, the marine environment communique said.

然而，海洋环境公报说，辽东湾和渤海湾的部分地区发现了严重污染。
