Some people think a good major in the university is of great importance，while others argue that whether one can be admitted to a good university should be laid more emphasis on．As far as I'm concerned，there's no need for us to be lost in the debate as both of them are too important to be ignored．

Admittedly，choosing a good major contributes considerably to one's academic and future life．On one hand，a good major can be one that enables you to study for a lifetime．You may discover it contains knowledge of so many different aspects that you'll be equipped with all-round abilities in the course of study．On the other hand，a good major can assure you of either a worthwhile or a well-paid job，which leads to your career success．

However，attending a good university is also important．First and foremost，a good university provides you with a lot of good learning resources，and you can easily find a knowledgeable professor with whose help you may succeed more easily．Besides，a good university usually has a rich culture and the students around you are often hardworking and optimistic．You are bound to gain a lot if you study in such a nice environment．

In a word，a good major and a good university are both important．What we should do is to spare no effort to have a good major in a good university．
