Life is no plain sailing，nor is learning．I still clearly remember the hardship I've gone through before the graduation exam of junior high school．

It was in a model test that I failed，which poured cold water on my ambition as the final examination was just around the corner．So discouraged was I when I got my low-scored test paper that I burst into tears．I thought it was the end of the my world and I was totally helpless since I couldn't do well in such a simple math test．Fortunately，my class teacher noticed my bad mood and offered me a helping hand kindly．She helped me analyze all my strong points and weak points，as well as gave me the warm encouragement which I needed badly．I cheered up and spent double effort than before．In the end，my perseverance and diligence were rewarded with a success in the following exam．

The lesson I've learnt from this experience is rich and profound．On one hand，I've been taught never to give up in the process of pursuing your goal．As an old saying goes，“God helps those who help themselves．” How can we expect the joy of success without making continuous efforts，working hard and improving ourselves？On the other hand，on no account should we lose confidence in ourselves．Failures and frustrations are unavoidable in our life，but they are only to make us stronger．Therefore，I'll always begin my day with a confident smile and steer my ship with hope．
