The population is one of thebiggest problems in the world today. China has the largest population with 1.3billion. It’s about one fifth of the world’s population. A large populationcauses many difficulties, not only for every family, but also for the wholenation. It has become a serious problem. In many less developed areas, someparents prefer boys to girls. As a result, many girls can’t go to school. Ithink we should do something to control the population. One answer is known asthe one-child policy. It has worked well in controlling China’s population.

人口是当今世界最大的问题之一。中国有13亿人口，是世界上人口最多的国家。大约占世界人口的五分之一。人口多造成许多困难，不仅对每个家庭，而且对整个国家。这已经成为一个严重的问题。在许多欠发达地区，有些父母重男轻女。结果，许多女孩不能上学。我认为我们应该做些什么来控制人口。一个答案就是独生子女政策。它在控制中国人口方面卓有成效。
