　　B: What’s the diff? A new club has opened up the road. It’s cheaper and has much better sporting facilities.

　　membership: 会员资格。

　　What’s the diff? : 这是个反问句，不需要回答。意思是尽管有不同的选择，但是这些选择彼此之间没有什么区别。diff是difference的口语表达。

　　facility: 设施。

　　don’t give a hoot: 这是个俚语表达，相当于 “I don’t care.” hoot指的是猫头鹰的叫。
