A: So Daniel, I heard you went on a vacation, where did you go?
丹尼尔，我听说你去度假了，你去哪里度假了？
B: Yeah, I went to Taiwan.
对，我去台湾了。
A: Oh, sounds interesting. What did you do?
哦，听起来很有趣。你做了什么？
B: Well, I did a lot of things. It's a really interesting place. I saw a lot of culture. I saw a lot of history. I went to beautiful places. They have like really, really beautiful nature. Everything was really, really good.
我做了很多事。台湾是一个非常有意思的地方。我看到了很多不同的文化。我看到了很多历史。我去了美丽的地方。台湾的自然风光真的很美。所有的一切都很好。
A: How was the food?
食物怎么样？
B: Well, the food in Taiwan is amazing. You wouldn't believe how good it is. Everything tastes amazing. And the good thing about it, it's really, really cheap.
哦，台湾的食物棒极了。你都想不到那里的食物有多棒。所有食物都非常美味。最好的一点是，那里的美食很便宜。
A: I see. Who did you go with?
我知道了。你和谁一起去的？
B: I went with a Taiwanese friend, so that was really good because I cannot speak Mandarin. And my friend helped me a lot with all the food, and that was really good because I really appreciated that.
我和一位台湾朋友一起去的，这非常好，因为我不会说汉语。我朋友给我介绍了很多美食，这非常好，我很喜欢这点。
A: How long did you go for?
你们玩了几天？
B: It was about eight days. And I think it was more than enough to get like a quick view of the whole island. It was really nice to go from Taipei in the north to some cities in the south. I think I got a really good impression of what Taiwan is.
大概8天。我认为这足够快速参观整座台湾岛了。我们从台北南下，沿路去了几座南部的城市，非常不错。台湾给我留下了很好的印象。
A: Why did you go to Taiwan?
你为什么去台湾度假？
B: Well I'm really interested in Asia and Asian cultures, and since it's really far from my background, I really want to get to know better all those cultures. And since for many western people are quite the same, I really want to find out those differences. And that's why I chose Taiwan.
我对亚洲和亚洲文化非常感兴趣，因为亚洲文化和我的背景非常不同，所以我非常想去了解一下那种文化。对许多西方人来说，亚洲基本上是一样的，我想去探索一下与众不同的地方。所以我选择了台湾。
