A: John, I'd like to see you in my office for a minute.

B: Yes, sir. I'll be there in just a moment.

A: John, I have been watching you. I've been paying attention to your performance over the last quarter and I'm impressed. You've done a tremendous job in tackling some difficult accounts. I just wanted to let you know, after this month's performance reviews, I'm recommending you for promotion.

B: Management? Wow, I had no idea I could move so quickly from entry level to managerial staff.
