    Three of the main suspects in a failed attempt to bomb the London transit system made a court appearance in London Monday.

    Muktar Said Ibrahim, Ramzi Mohammed and Yassin Hassan Omar were ordered to remain in custody until Nov. 14.

    They face charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to murder and possessing or making explosives.

    Ibrahim, 27, and Mohammed, 23, were charged Sunday.

    Police suspect Ibrahim of trying to blow up a bus and accuse Mohammed of attempting to bomb a train in the Oval subway station on July 21 – one of three trains that were targeted two weeks after similar bombings killed 56 people.

    They face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment on each charge, if convicted.

    Ibrahim and Mohammed were arrested in a police raid on a public housing estate in west London on July 29, eight days after knapsack bombs on three trains and the bus failed to detonate.

    Yassin Hassan Omar, 24, was was charged on Saturday.

    The remaining main suspect, Hamdi Issac – previously known as Osman Hussain – is being held in Rome by Italian police and British investigators are seeking his extradition.

    The "Fifth Bomber"

    Another suspect, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, was charged with conspiracy to murder and explosives offences.

    He's being held in connection with explosives found in a knapsack in a west London park several days after the botched bombings.

    Some British newspapers have dubbed him the "Fifth Bomber" amid accusations that he took part in the failed July 21 attack.

    Two other men, Siraj Yassin Abdullah Ali, 30, and Wharbi Mohammed, 22, were charged with helping a suspect evade arrest.

    Six other people have been charged earlier with failing to disclose information about a suspect in the July 21 attacks.

    Among those being detained under Britain's Terrorism Act 2000 are Issac's wife, Yeshshiembet Girma, 28, and her sister Muluemebet Girma, 21
