插入语通常由一个词、一个短语或一个句子构成，位置较为灵活，可置于句首、句中或句末，一般用逗号或破折号与句子隔开，是对一句话或者一个词所作的一些附加说明或解释。
第二：使用倒装句。
Eg： Not until Tom began to work did he realize how much time I had wasted.
直到汤姆开始工作的时候，他才意识到自己已将浪费了多少时间。
Eg： Only if the American government will adopt some efficient measures， will the economic crisis be tackled.
只有美国政府采取有效的措施，这次经济危机才能被解决。
第三：使用强调句： It is + 被强调的内容 + that
Eg： It is cars and factories that release a great deal of gases，polluting the environment.
汽车和工厂排放大量的废气，使得环境被污染。
第四：使用同位语从句。
Eg： It is an indisputable fact that desert enlarging becomes increasingly serious.
毋庸置疑的是沙漠的扩大化正变得越来越严重。
Eg： No one can refute the basic fact that unemployment is an important reason for city crime .
没有人能否认这一基本事实： 失业率是导致城市犯罪案件发生的而一个重要原因。
第五：使用主语从句。
Eg： It is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of Jane Austen’s novels is the choice people make for marriage partners.
人们普遍承认简 · 奥斯丁的小说永恒的主题是人们做的关于婚姻伴侣的选择。
Eg： What has caught people's attention is that the economy in both China and India is quickly developing.
人们已经开始关注的是中国和印度的经济都在飞速发展。
第六： 使用状语从句。
在托福写作技巧当中运用的最多的是以下四种状语从句，即原因状语从句，让步状语从句，条件状语从句，时间状语从句。
1. 原因状语从句：常常由because， as， since和for引导
Eg： Watching television is a better way to learn， for it provides people more fresh knowledge.
看电视是一种更好的学习方法，因为它提供给人们更多的新鲜知识和资讯。
2. 让步状语从句：常由although， though， even though/ if， as long as引导
Eg： Although renewable resources are beneficial to human society， this is little evidence that they can replace fossil fuels in twenty years.
尽管可再生能源对人类社会有益处，但是没有证据证明它们能够在20年之后就可以代替化石燃料。
3. 条件状语从句：常由if， on the condition that和providing that引导
Eg： Providing that now more and more people begin to realize the severeness of energy shortage， the demand of electricity saving appliance will be increasingly large.
如果现在有越来越的人都意识到了能源短缺的严重性，那么节能电器的需求就会越来越大。
4. 时间状语从句：常由when和while引导
Eg： When it comes to welfare，the developing countries simply can not compete with developed countries.
说到社会福利，发展中国家简直没有办法和发达国家相比。
