1.Application of patent 申请专利

A: When should I apply for a patent if I have an invention？

B: It has to be within one year after you've shown your invention publicly.

A：如果我有一项发明，什么时候适合申请专利呢？

B：必须在公布你的发明后一年内。

2.Award of patent 授予专利权

A: Have we got the award of patent?

B: Not yet. It will take another six months.

A：我们获得专利权了吗？

B：还没有，还要再等六个月。

3.Expiration of patent 专利终止

A: When does the patent expire?

B: It depends on different countries. Some are ten years, and some are fifteen years.

A：专利什么时候终止？

B：不同国家情况不同，有的是十年，有的是五十年。

A: When you have an invention, how do you decide if you can apply for a patent?

B: There are three criterias. It has to be useful, novel, and not obvious.

A：如果你有一项发明，如何判断是否可以申请专利呢？

B：有三个标准，必须有用、新颖、不显而易见。

A: Who issues the patent?

B: In China, it is the Patent Bureau.

A：谁来授予专利？

B：在中国是专利局。
