由于英语使用许多连接词，所以，句式结构比较灵活多样。但商务英语属于正式文体，因此，它有着典型的书面英语句法特征：句子结构较为复杂，句式规范，文体正式，尤其在商务合同协议中更是如此。请看下例：

If, whether during the execution of the works orafter their completion and whether before or afterthe repudiation or other termination of thecontract, between the Employer and the Contractorarises any dispute in connection with, or arising outof, the Contract or the execution of the works,including any disagreement by either party with anyaction, inaction, opinion, instruction, determination, certificate or valuation of the Engineer,the matter shall, in the first place, be referred to the Disputes Review Board.

同时，商务英语的句式结构也趋于简短。例如：

We hereby confirm... / This is to confirm... 兹确认……

Our firm had a bad year last year.去年我公司年景不佳。

Enclosed please find...随函附上……，请查收。

I can't share your view on that.对此本人不敢苟同。

这些句型看似简单，但要做到在从事国际商务活动中对这些常用句型信手拈来、应用自如，也非易事。
