There was a serious traffic jam on the super highway during the Chinese New Year.

农历年时，高速公路大塞车。

Many people, instead of driving, took trains home for family reunions.

很多人改搭火车回家团圆。

At night, people set off fire crackers, so that we could hear popping all around.

在晚上，很多人放鞭炮，因此鞭炮声处处可闻。

While having the family reunion dinner on Lunar New Year’s Eve, I got lots of red envelops from my elders.
