二、某些动词后的宾语从句中的虚拟语气

1.及物动词+that+主语+（should）+do sth.

order 命令　　　 prefer 宁愿　　　 propose 提议　　　recommend 推荐

He insisted that I （should）pay the money at once.他坚持要我马上付钱。

I ordered that it （should）be sent home.我命令把它送回家去。

He commanded that we （should）attack at once.他命令我们立即发起进攻。

He requires that I （should）appear.他要求我出场。

【提示】 这类句子的被动结构是“It was done+that从句”。

It was proposed that this matter be discussed next time.有人提议这事下次再讨论。

2.insist后的宾语从句

（1）宾语从句中的谓语动词所表示的动作发生在insist之后，则用虚拟语气。

He insisted that I （should）go with them.他坚持要我同他们一起去。

（2）宾语从句中的谓语动词所表示的动作发生在insist之前，则用陈述语气。

He insisted that he hadn’t stolen the money.他坚称没有偷钱。

【比较】

①He insisted that I had read his letter.

他坚持说我看过他的信。（read 发生在insist之前）

②He insisted that I should read his letter.

他坚持要我看他的信。（read 发生在insist之后）

3.suggest后的宾语从句

（1）suggest表示“建议”时，则用虚拟语气。

He suggested that we （should）stay for dinner.他建议我们留下吃饭。

（2）suggest表示“表明，暗示”时，则用陈述语气。

What he said suggested that he was a cheat.他说的话表明他是个骗子。

The smile on his face suggested that he agreed to this plan.

他脸上的微笑表明他同意这项计划。
