According to the statement, verified accounts of government departments and “credible media” will be able to mark posts disseminating fake news with a customizable notice identifying them as untrue or misleading. The notice will then appear immediately below the post.
消息指出，已认证的政府机构账号以及具有公信力的媒体账号可将传播虚假新闻的微博帖文用特定的标记标为不实或误导，该标记会立即显示在原微博下方。
“媒体政务辟谣共治平台”扩充了地方类有公信力的重点媒体账号(credible key media accounts)共1638个，同时对公安、网警以及发布类共1322个有辟谣能力的政务账号(government-affiliated accounts)开通辟谣功能权限。
具体操作流程如下：
一、受邀媒体、政务账号可通过PC端微博投诉窗中的辟谣专用入口“我要辟谣(report a rumor)”进入媒体政务辟谣共治平台。
二、通过辟谣平台将特定微博标记为谣言(mark the post as rumor)，并同步发出一条辟谣信息(post a rumor-busting message)，让网友更好的了解真相，对相关谣言和辟谣信息进行查阅。
为了更加有力的打击网络谣言(online rumors)，保证信息传播的客观真实性，微博于2018年年初上线了媒体辟谣平台(media rumor-busting platform)，首批进入媒体辟谣平台的是中央媒体账号。
此次平台扩充，媒体、政务账号不再只是提供消息来源的简单角色，而是直接参与到平台内容治理当中(participate in Weibo’s content management)。
