Sixteen senior officials of the State Council took an oath of allegiance to the Constitution at a ceremony held in the Zhongnanhai leadership compound in downtown Beijing Tuesday. The officials were appointed to 14 State Council departments from July to November this year.

全国人大常委会于2015年7 月1 日通过了《全国人民代表大会常务委员会关于实行宪法宣誓制度的决定》，该决定将于2016 年1 月1 日起施行。这一决定是对中共中央十八届四中全会有关建立宪法宣誓制度的任务的落实。
宪法宣誓对于维护宪法的根本法地位具有重要意义。宪法是根本法，依法治国首先是依宪治国，依法执政首先是依宪执政，国家机关工作人员对宪法进行宣誓的制度突出了宪法所具有的最高的法律地位、法律权威、法律效力，有利于促进国家机关工作人员增强宪法意识，运用宪法思维、宪法理念分析问题、解决问题的能力;有利于国家机关工作人员在内心深处尊重宪法;有利于国家机关工作人员在工作中首先想到宪法，避免出现违反宪法的行为，避免有关机关制定违反宪法的规范性文件。
【重要讲话】
坚持依法治国首先要坚持依宪治国。要用科学有效、系统完备的制度体系保证宪法实施，加强宪法监督，维护宪法尊严，把实施宪法提高到新水平。
