Christmas Eve

Linda： Merry Christmas!

Joan： Merry Christmas！Hey，what plans do you have for this special day?

Linda： No special plans．I'll have supper with my boyfriend and go shopping．How about you?

Joan： First，I'm going to get ready for the parade ．I have a great costume．Then later today，I'm going to church ．If you want，I can give you a costume and you can be in the parade，too．It'll be fun．You should come．Would you like to come?

Linda： Sure！Why not? It sounds like fun．Why are you going to church?

Joan： Lots of people，especially seniors，like to go to church and attend the evening service．But I love singing Xmas carols in church.

Linda： It seems to be so much Xmas history．It's interesting to see how the culture of Xmas has changed over the years.

Joan： I suppose that it will continue to change．But the traditional activities will never change.

Linda： I still believed that Santa Claus will come from North Pole with his reindeer and put my gifts in the stocking ，when I was 10 years old.

Joan： Ha-ha.

琳达： 圣诞快乐！

琼： 圣诞快乐！喂，这么特别的日子，你打算怎么过啊？

琳达： 也没什么特别打算。和我男朋友一起吃顿饭，然后去逛街吧。你呢？

琼： 首先，我得为今天的花车游行做准备。我有一身很漂亮的节日服装呢。稍后，我会去教堂。如果你愿意的话，我可以给你一身节日服装，这样你就能加入到游行的队伍里了。这非常有意思的，你应该来。你们要不要来？

琳达： 好的，干嘛不去呢？听起来蛮有趣的。那你为什么要去教堂呢？

琼： 很多人尤其是那些长者，都喜欢去教堂参加晚祷。但是我爱唱圣诞颂歌。

琳达： 看起来圣诞节的历史很多。看到圣诞节文化如何随着时光的推移而发生改变很有趣。

琼： 我觉得它还会继续发生变化。但是传统的活动不会有任何变化。

琳达： 直到我10岁的时候，还相信圣诞老人会和他的驯鹿从北极来，将我的礼物放到袜子里呢！

琼： 哈哈。
