    We'll expect you at 10.

    We'll see you at 10.

Be sure to come on Friday evening. I'll be expecting you then.

    wait on him 是等他吗?

    wait on sb

to do everything for someone so that that person does not have to do anything for himself or herself

While she was pregnant, her husband waited on her hand and foot (= did everything for her).

    wait for the red light≠等红灯

wait for the red light to change

    wait for the green light

wait for the red light to change 等红灯

wait for the green light 等红灯

stop by the red right 红灯前停车

因为wait的本意是等待人或事的出现,介词for后接其等待出现的对象,我们是等红灯变绿灯,所以正确的说法应该是wait for the green light或wait for the red light to change。

    例:

If you want to cross the road, you must wait for the green light.
