Topic3 Sanya offers inflation subsidyThe city of Sanya in Hainan province has decided to pay long-term residents 360 yuan each to compensate for the rising cost of living in the city.

The 360 yuan is meant to help cover living costs for the first half of 2014.

Around 620,000 people are expected to apply for the subsidy, which would cost the city over 220 million yuan, approximately 33 million US dollars.
