上New Yorkers spent almost 90 minutes of leisure time a day on a computer – and if they worked at the national minimum wage for the same amount of time they would have earned $3,969.38 a year, according to a new study.

And yet, that’s a fraction of the nine hours and 39 minutes the average American spends in front of a screen every day, according to the study by Verizon.

A team from the telecommunications giant pulled data – covering the years 2013 to 2017 — from the American Time Use Survey to determine which states spent the most and least amount of free time on computers.

New York came in No. 23 in the nation – at 1 hours, 28 minutes — out of 47 states surveyed.

ATUS recorded time spent downloading files, using social media, browsing the web, and other leisure-related activities, but excluded some work-related activities and household actions such as online banking or shopping.

Residents with the most leisure time on their hands were in Alaska, where they averaged 2 hours and 46 minutes a day on the computer. That’s almost 1,010 hours a year, or 42 days — enough time to fly to the moon and back seven times.

On the other end of the spectrum, Delaware residents spent an average of 43 minutes a day – which equates to 261 hours, or just under 11 days, almost long enough to watch all of “Game of Thrones” four times.

Meanwhile, folks in South Dakota spent 54 minutes on a computer, while in Vermont they averaged a couple minutes more per day, according to the study.
