Lay /leɪ/

v. 放置;(鸟)产(卵)，下(蛋)
 

Lay is used to talk about putting something in a particular place or position, or means that the female bird produced an egg by pushing it out of its body.

Lay常用来表示把某物放到特定的位置或地方;或是表示雌性的鸟产卵(下蛋)。(过去式是laid，过去分词也是laid)
 

Linda laid her baby down gently on the bed.

Linda把她的宝宝轻轻地放到了床上。
 

That hen has laid an egg.

那只母鸡下蛋了。

 

Lie /laɪ/

 

lie /laɪ/

v. 躺;说谎
 

It means to be or put someone in a flat or horizontal position so that he/she is not standing or sitting, or means to say or write sth. that he/she knows is not true.

Lie有两个常用的意思，某人平躺;或是编造说话人自己知道的谎言，也就是说谎。(过去式是lay，过去分词是lain)
 

Sometimes, he likes lying on the grass to think some things and problems.

有时，他喜欢躺在草地上思考一些事情和问题。
 

Trust me, I never lie to you.

相信我，我没有对你说过谎。
