Laurance- Was that the telephone ringing?
是电话铃响了吗？
Soony- I didn't hear anything.
我什么都没听见。
Laurance- I thought I heard it ring two or three times.
我觉得我听见电话响了两三遍。
Soony- Sometimes when the windows are open, you can hear the neighbors' phone.
当窗户开着的时候，你可能听到的是邻居家的电话响。
Laurance- Well, I'm expecting an important phone call, and I don't want to miss it.
我正等一个很重要的电话，我不能错过它。
Soony- Is it anything I should know about?
我能够知道是什么事情吗？
Laurance- Not really. It has something to do with work and doesn't really affect us here at home.
我也不确定，可能和工作有关，或者并不影响我们在这儿。
Soony- Well, why don't you go ahead and do what you wanted to do outside. I'll call you if the phone rings for you.

Laurance- Thanks. I think I will. I've been waiting so long now I'm getting nervous. I need to relax outdoors.

1. Not really.= It is not really anything you should know about.
2. have something to do with work:与工作有关.这是个常用句型.
have 动词之后可用nothing,something,anything也可用a lot, a great deal, little等词替换.
3. waiting so long now(that)I'm getting nervous:口语中so... that结构中的that常省略.
