① ignorant指缺乏或不了解一般或某方面的知识，有愚昧的含义。be ignorant of/about表示“对……无知”。

He was ignorant of the traffic rules here. 他不懂这儿的交通规则。

She was very young，and ignorant of what life really is. 她很年轻，不懂得什么是真正的人生。

The woman was ignorant about those people round her husband. 这位妇女对她丈夫周围的那些人全然不了解。

② illiterate指“文盲的”，即不具备学习书本知识所需的读写能力。

He was an illiterate man. 他目不识丁。（他是文盲。）

③ uneducated指未受过学校的系统教育或未学过书本中的系统知识，有“文化素质差”的含义。

Many people who have been to school are uneducated. 许多进过学校的人并没有受过良好的教育。
