① persuade着重利用热烈的敦促、辩论或劝告，动之以情而赢得某人依附某一信仰或参与某种行为，意为“说服”。

She wanted to buy the orange dress，but we persuaded her that the blue one was more becoming. 她打算买橙色衣服，但我们劝她买蓝色的更适合些。

② convince着重于诉诸理智或利用某种证据，排除某人的反对或不相信，意为“使……相信，确信”。

I have convinced her that she needs a vacation，but can not persuade her to take one. 我已使她相信她确实需要休假，但不能说服她实际去度假。
