1、Expressing Worries（表达忧虑）

A：I'm afraid we can't finish the work today.（我担心我们今天无法完成这项工作。）
B：Don't worry.（不要担心。）
A：The boss wants to see me. I'm very nervous.（老板要见我。我很紧张。）
B：Take is easy. Don't worry.（别紧张。不要担心。）
A：You look worried. What's the matter?（你看上去很忧虑。什么事？）
B：I'm going to an interview tomorrow.（明天我要去面试。）
A：Oh, take it easy. Everything will be OK.（哦，别紧张。一切都会好的。）
B：Thank you for your encouragement.（谢谢你的鼓励。）

2、Expressing Surprise（表示惊讶）

A：Our report has been turned down.（我们的报告被退回来了。）
B：Really?（真的吗？）
A：We'll have to stay and work overtime.（我们得留下来加班。）
B：What?（什么？）
A：Dick came first in the speech contest.（迪克在演讲比赛中得了第一名。）
B：What a surprise!（太令人惊讶了！）
A：I can't believe it's you.（我不敢相信是你。）
B：Yeah, we haven't seen each other for ages.（是呀，我们已有很久没见了。）
A：I've decided to go abroad.（我已决定出国。）
B：You have? That's great!（是吗？太棒了！）

3、Expressing Sympathy（表示同情）

A：I didn't manage to get the concert tickets.（我没有弄到音乐会的票子。）
B：What bad luck!（真倒霉！）
A：The weather was awful during our trip to Fenghua.（我们在奉化游玩期间天气很糟糕。）
B：Oh, bad luck.（哦，倒霉。）
A：Anne's husband was injured in a road accident yesterday morning.（昨天早上安妮的丈夫在交通事故中受伤了。）
B：Oh dear! Was it serious?（啊，天哪！情况严重吗？）
A：She failed to pass the driving test.（她没有通过驾驶考试。）
B：I'm sorry to hear that.（哦，听到这事我很难过。）
A：Tom broke his leg last week.（汤姆上周把腿摔断了。）
B：Poor Tom. I hope he feels better soon.（可怜的汤姆。希望他尽快好起来。）
