第三十七课 童谣

There was an old woman，who lived in a shoe;

有一位住在鞋里的老太太，

She had so many children,

她有很多孩子，

She didn't know what to do;

她不知道怎么办。

She gave them some broth,without any bread;

她喂他们没有面包的高汤，

She whipped them all soundly,

严厉的鞭打他们，

And sent them to bed.

送他们上床睡觉。

 

Once I saw a little bird come hop, hop, hop;

一旦我看见小鸟单足行走，

So I cried, “Little bird, will you stop, stop,stop?”

我就会喊“小鸟，停下来，停下来，停下来好吗？”

And was going to the window to say, “How do you do?”

然后跑到窗户边对它说你好，

But he shook his little tail, and away he flew!

但是它摇晃着尾巴，飞跑了。

Dance, little baby, dance up high;

跳舞吧，孩子，跳起来吧！

Never mind, baby, mother is nigh;

不要介意，孩子，妈妈就在附近。

Crow and l, caper and crow—

乌鸦和我都蹦蹦跳跳。

There, little baby, there you go!

那儿，孩子，到那边去。

Up to the ceiling, down to the ground,

上到天花板下到地板，

Backwards and forwards, round and round!

前前后后，旋转啊旋转！

Dance, little baby, and mother will sing,

跳舞吧，孩子，妈妈为你伴唱，

Merrily, merrily, ding, dong, ding!
