第三十七课 酋长之女

A chieftain to the Highlands bound

一个高地部落酋长，

Cries, "Boatman, do not tarry,

大喊“渡我过河，

And I'll give thee a silver pound

我会花重金

To row us o'er the ferry!"—

让你渡我过河！”——

"Now who be ye would cross Lochgyle,

“你要和谁一起，

This dark and stormy water?"—

渡过这片惊涛骇浪的水域？”——

"Oh! I'm the chief of Ulva's isle;

“噢！我是阿尔瓦岛上的酋长；

And this, Lord Ullin's daughter"

这位是阿林酋长的女儿”

"And fast before her father's men

“快点，趁她父亲的追兵还未到

Three days we've fled together;

For should he find us in the glen,

My blood would stain the heather.

"His horsemen hard behind us ride;—

By this the storm grew loud apace,

The water-wraith was shrieking,

And in the scowl of heaven each face
