91　afraid和anxious

1　afraid 表示“害怕，恐惧”，afraid 通常属于个人性质，害怕身体受到伤害，还表示轻微的顾虑。

She's afraid of dogs. 她怕狗。

He was so afraid that his face turned pale. 他吓得面色苍白。

I'm afraid a quarrel is inevitable. 恐怕一场争吵难以避免。

2　anxious 表示“忧虑的，担心的”，还表示“渴望的，急切的”。

She was anxious about the children. 她为孩子们担心。

We are all anxious about/for his safety. 我们都为他的安全而忧虑。

He is anxious to please his guests. 他很想讨客人们欢心。
