237　both...and, neither...nor和either...or

1　both...and 连接两个并列主语时，表示“两者都”，为全部肯定，谓语动词用复数形式。

Both Mary and Jane like the film. 玛丽和珍妮都喜欢这部电影。

Both Mr. Wang and Mr. Zhang are wrong. 王先生和张先生都错。

both...not是部分否定，意为“两个不都……”。

Both answers are not right. 两个答案不都是对的。

2　neither...nor 连接两个并列主语时，表示“两者都不”，为全部否定，谓语动词要同nor 后面的主语一致。

Neither Mary nor Jane likes the film. 玛丽和珍妮都不喜欢这部电影。

He neither drinks nor smokes. 他既不喝酒，也不抽烟。

3　either...or 连接两个并列主语时，意为“或者……或者，不是……就是，要么……要么”，表示两者选择一个，谓语动词同or 后面的主语一致。

Either you or I am wrong. 不是你错，就是我错 。

Either her mother or her brothers are coming. 要么她母亲来，要么她兄弟们来 。

Either her brothers or her mother is coming. 不是她兄弟们来，就是她母亲来 。

We shall go there either by train or by plane. 我们或者乘火车或者乘飞机去那里。
