What is the date of the Buddha's Parinibbāna?

In China, the 15th of the second month of the lunar calendar is commonly accepted as the Day of the Buddha's Parinibbāna, the 8th of the fourth month as the Buddha's birthday, and the 8th of the twelfth month as the Day of the Buddha's enlightenment. In South and Southeast Asian countries, however, the full moon day of May of the Gregorian calendar (corresponding to the 15th of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar) is the Buddhist Holy Day called Vesākha (S. Vaiśākya), which is regarded as the Day of the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, as well as Parinibbāna.
我国一般认为农历二月十五日是佛涅槃日，四月初八日是佛诞生日，十二月初八日是佛成道日。南方各国则以公历五月月圆日（相当于我国农历四月十五日）为佛节日（Vesākha），认为佛诞生、成道、涅槃都在这一天。
