1952年庇隆夫人去世，年仅33岁。她协助庇隆总统推行旨在平等、民主的政治经济改革，于是产生了“庇隆主义”。“我要为穷人燃烧自己的生命!”百姓将她视为偶像，穷人将她视为救星。她去世时，70万人向其灵柩行礼致哀。
