New progress was made in Beijing's archaeological work and the protection of large archaeological sites, with 120 excavation projects covering an area of 116,000 square meters and about 5,000 cultural relics unearthed, said Liu Hongchang, spokesperson for the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, at a press conference on Sunday.

2月13日，北京市文物局发言人刘洪昌表示，2021年，去年北京考古工作和大遗址保护取得新进展，考古发掘项目120项、发掘面积11.6万平方米，出土文物约5000件(套)。

Four archaeological sites in Beijing - Zhoukoudian site, Liulihe Site, Dabaotai Han Dynasty Tomb (202 BC - 220 AD) and Ding Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) - were selected as China's "One hundred Archaeological discoveries".
周口店遗址、琉璃河遗址、大葆台汉墓、明定陵4处考古遗址入选中国“百年百大考古发现”。
