My family wanted to do something to honor my son who had been sent to Iraq. With the help of my four-year-old grandson,I tied a yellow ribbon on the tree in my front yard.

"Why are we doing this,Grandma" he asked.

"It's for your uncle," I said.

He remarked quietly,"A tree's not much of a present."

我的儿子被派到伊拉克打仗去了,我们全家想要做点什么来表示对他的敬意。在我4岁孙子的帮助下,我把一条黄绸带绑在前院的一棵树上。

他问我:"奶奶,我们为什么要这么做呀?"

我说:"这是送给你叔叔的。"
