2、least worst option
英国人吐槽：下次要是有人跟你讲XXX是the least worst option(最好选择)，你就告诉他们对于他们来说最最最好的选择是滚回去学语法。
英式表达：The lesser1 of two evils/the better of the two
eg: I think going with him is the better of two evils/is the better of the two options.
3、two-time and three-time
英国人吐槽：我经历过的渐渐渗入到英语里的短语(特别是播音员使用的)是two-time(两次)和three -time(三次).
难道double啊triple啊什么的都彻底消失了么?
从语法上来说，这根本构不成短语，而且用在口语中更糟糕。每次听到或者看到它我就心跳加速。这对我的健康造成了威胁，因为基本每天都要经历这些。
英式表达：double, triple, quadruple, quintuple
Eg: a double occurrence (not a two-time occurrence)
4、24/7
英国人吐槽：使用24/7来表达“全天候”，不如就朴实地说all day, every day.
英式表达：All the time/constantly.
Eg: He plays video game the whole time/he constantly plays video games. (不要：he plays video games 24/7!)
5、deplane
英国人吐槽：我不能忍受的就是deplane这个词，意思就是下飞机，用法是这样的：You will be able to deplane momentarily(您很快就能下飞机了).
英式表达：deplane这个词英国人全然不用，连我也只能猜出是什么意思!正确的词： disembark, get off the plane.
6、wait on
英国人吐槽：有次我读了一个朋友就在车站等车的消息：waiting on a train.
他所表达的意思是火车一直没到站，而我却以为朋友在车上。
英式表达：Wait on = wait for. Wait for train, not wait on a train.
7、It is what it is.
英国人吐槽：It is what it is.(这就是事实。) 同情同情我们吧!
英式表达：不如说：That’s just what’s happened. That’s just how it’s turned out.
Eg: We tried everything to make the situation easier, but that’s just how it’s turned out.
8、fanny pack
英国人吐槽：敢不敢提fanny pack(腰包)啊?
英式表达：Fanny Pack = Bum2 bag.
美语中的fanny是屁股的意思，但英式英语中fanny的意思就指女人的生殖器，慎用!
But fanny packs/bum bags aren’t really around anymore, they’re not considered to be cool!
9、 Touch base
英国人吐槽：Touch base(联系)——这让我不停地哆嗦。
英式表达： Touch Base = 意思不大清楚，
get in touch/get in contact/make contact with s.o 都更好点。
10、physicality
英国人吐槽：Physicality(物质性)真的是一个词吗?
英式表达： Physicality是泛指物质的physical state/condition.
Use physical state instead!
Eg: You will be able to disembark the plane shortly/ you’ll be able to get off the plane shortly.
11、 Transportation
英国人吐槽：Transportation(交通工具)是怎么回事?加个ation有必要吗?
英式表达：就说transport就可以。
12、leverage3 英国人吐槽：我讨厌听到的词是leverage. 把它读成lev-er-ig(美), 而不是lee-ver-ig(英). 好像各行各业突然都这么读了，意思貌似也变成“附加值”了。
英式表达：这是对读音的不满，不是用法上的，但leverage在美式英语中有“举债经营”的意思，英式英语用gearing表达此意。
13、turn
英国人吐槽：难道没人庆祝生日(celebrate a birthday)了吗?我们一定都要turn 12岁或者21岁或者40岁吗?连爱丁堡公爵过生日也统统说成上个月他turning 90岁。这是什么时候开始的?我喜欢这个表达本身，但它似乎取代掉其他所有谈论生日的说法了。
英式表达：He’s turning 23. 已经变成了最常用的说法，但也可以说：it’s his 23rd birthday/he’ll be 23.
14、shopping cart
英国人吐槽：我发现现在自己会说：shopping cart(购物手推车)而不是shopping trolley4 , 我非常讨厌这一点。我从没去过美国，也没在美国生活过。
英式表达：在英国买东西的时候，要说trolley, 而不说cart!
15、gotten
英国人吐槽：Gotten(get的过去分词，美式用法)到底是个什么词?它总是让我不寒而栗。
英式表达： Gotten?!我的耳朵要出血了!
He’s gotten a bit ill?
扯淡!应该是He’s fallen ill! The weather has gotten better?
屁话!应该是The weather turned out nice!
16、I’m good.
英国人吐槽：用I’m good(我很好)替代I’m well. 刚刚开始接受了。
英式表达：败了!I’m good就I’m good吧1
17、Bangs
英国人吐槽：用bangs表示刘海?
He’s growing bangs???
英式表达：He’s growing a fringe.
18、Take-out
英国人吐槽：英国人完全不会说takeout(外卖)，你要是在这儿的话，一定要入乡随俗哈!
英式表达：takeaway!
19、ridiculosity
英国人吐槽：Ridiculosity是什么词儿啊?我喜欢美式英语，不过我怀疑甚至一些美国人也是虚情假意地在用它们，这份声明简直是荒谬(ridiculosity)。
英式表达：该是ridiculous!
eg: That statement was the height of ridiculousness/that statement was ridiculous!
20、A half hour
英国人吐槽：a half hour(半小时)真让人抓狂!
英式表达：该是 half an hour!
eg: He’ll be here in half an hour is better than he’ll be here in a half hour.
21、heads up
英国人吐槽：在商业会议上说：Lets do a heads up(提醒) on this issue. 我至今还不知道是什么意思。
英式表达：这个意思是提前告诉个人某消息，为了让他们更好做准备。
比较正式的说法是：I’ll let you know beforehand/ I’ll inform you in advance.
22、Train station
英国人吐槽：Train station(火车站)，每次听到它，我就很恼火。谁开始用这个词的?他们没有被罚吗?
英式表达：railway station 比较地道，但是我个人觉得train station 这个说法已经被流行化了，甭太较真了!
23、 alphabetize it
英国人吐槽：把一张表按照字母顺序排列就是去alphabetize it——非常不爽!
英式表达：英国人都说： I’ll put this list in alphabetical5 order.
24、my bad
英国人吐槽：那些在犯错后说my bad(我的错)的人，我真不知道事情怎么可以变得如此让人恼火、将惰性体现得淋漓尽致的!
英式表达：文质彬彬的人都该说： I’m sorry that was my fault/it was my fault/my mistake.
eg：I thought this was the place but I got totally mixed up. My mistake.
25、 Normalcy
英国人吐槽：用normalcy(正常状态)真的会激怒我，真想打说的人一个耳光哈!实在太错了这个词儿啊!
英式表达：normality
26、burglarize
英国人吐槽：作为一名生活在新奥尔良的侨民，我有很长一串清单，但是burglarize(破门盗窃)是我目前最不喜欢的词。
英式表达：英国用burgle!
eg：The burglar burgled the house – he didn’t BURGLARIZE it.
27、 Oftentimes
英国人吐槽：Oftentimes(经常)会让我恼怒得直哆嗦。
英式表达：有种种比这个词儿好听的生词，比如：often、frequently、usually、regularly、a lot of the time等。
28、 Eaterie
英国人吐槽：Eaterie(餐馆) 经常听到，天呐!!
英式表达：RESTAURANT!!!
29、bi-weekly
英国人吐槽：美国人需要用bi-weekly(每两周一次), fortnightly明明足够好用了。
英式表达：fortnightly
eg: We meet every fortnight for dinner.
30、alternate
英国人吐槽：我讨厌用alternate替代alternative. 我不喜欢这个因为它们是不同的两个词，它们分别有不同的意思，两者都很有用。
用alternate替代alternative会让我们失去一个词。
英式表达：alternate是every other x的意思，
比如说：隔日=alternate days,但是alternative是替代性的，an alternative day有改天的意思。
31、Hike
英国人吐槽：Hike(提升)价格。
那是不是意味着“提升价格的人”可以用hikers表示?不，hikers(旅行者)是“漫游者”的意思好不好!
英式表达：Raise a price/lift a price.
32、Going forward
英国人吐槽：Going forward(前进)? 如果我要打这个词，我势必要和我的键盘搏斗一番。
英式表达：Better to say：in the future/in the near future.
