拜伦（George G. Byron，1788-1824），英国浪漫主义时期重要诗人。他所创造的“拜伦式英雄”——对社会极端不满而企图以个人的力量反叛旧有制度和道德规范的青年，已成为文学艺术中的典型，极大地吸引了当时欧洲的有志青年，鼓舞人们争取民主和自由的斗志。拜伦在诗歌中热情讴歌自由、民主与解放，并以敏锐的眼光和犀利的笔调批判、讽刺当时英国和欧洲上流社会的腐朽与黑暗。在艺术方面，他的诗更多古典主义诗歌所讲究的节制，形式完美，表达含蓄，又不失真情实感，很受人们的喜爱。

她走着，洒一路姣美，好似

She walks in beauty, like the night

夜空无云，天上有繁星，

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

或暗，或明，那美的极致

And all that's best of dark and bright

聚于她颜面，凝于她眼睛，

Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

逐渐融化为清光幽姿，

Thus mellow'd to that tender light

艳阳天得不到如此天恩。

Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

多一丝阴影，少一缕光线，

One shade the more, one ray the less,

会把她无名的美质损害，

Had half impair'd the nameless grace

那美呵，在她的乌发上蹁跹，

Which waves in every raven tress,

又轻轻闪耀在她的两腮；

Or softly lightens o'er her face;

她安详怡悦的神思在歌赞

Where thoughts serenely sweet express

那住所有多么纯洁、可爱！

How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

那面颊，那天庭，如此安谧，

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,

如此温柔，又生动欲语；

So soft, so calm, yet eloquent ,

耀眼的光彩，迷人的笑意，

The smiles that win, the tints that glow,

显示出年华偕美德同住，

But tell of days in goodness spent,

与天下万事和睦的胸臆，

A mind at peace with all below,

A heart whose love is innocent !
