玛丽·F·罗宾孙（A. Mary F. Robinson，1857-1944），英国女诗人。1878年，她出版了第一本诗集《一束金银花》，作品灵秀、纤弱，略带忧郁，很快引起文学界注意。1888年她与法国学者波斯语专家詹姆士·达莫斯泰特结婚，他们感情笃深，并互译对方作品，促进了英国与欧洲大陆文学的交流。罗宾孙的诗歌风格多样，曾用民谣体创作，语言简洁质朴，感情真挚，兼有沉思和抒情的格调。另有诗作流露出神秘及扑朔迷离的气质。主要作品有《歌、民谣及一出花园戏剧》（1889）、《追忆与其他诗歌》（1893）。

你在荒漠里流浪，渴得难受，

You wandered in the desert waste, athirst;

我把我灵魂当作井赠给你解渴；

My soul I gave you as a well to drink;

你在井栏边留恋徘徊了片刻，

A little while you lingered at the brink,

你走了，没受到祝福也没被诅咒。

And then you went, nor either blessed or cursed .

The image of your face, which sank that day

那口水井的具有魔力的井水中，

Into the magic waters of the well,

至今还光顾那一泓清澈，始终

Still haunts their clearness, still remains to tell

Of one who looked and drank and could not stay.

太阳照进去，月亮斜照在井上，

The sun shines down, the moon slants over it,

星星探视它，并里都没有映象，

The stars look in and are reflected not;

在井里闪耀，把一井清水照亮。

Shines through the deep, till all the waves are lit.

My soul I gave you as a well to drink,

And in its depths your face is clearer far

远胜太阳、月亮或星星的闪熠——

Than any shine of sun or moon or star—
