The hidden island, called Graham's Bank, is 26 feet underwater. Scientists think that all the volcanic activity could cause the island to come to the surface. And it wouldn't be the first time! The island has emerged four times before, with the last time being in 1831. The island had a circumference of about 3 miles. Last time, several countries fought over who should own the new island. But six months later, Graham's Bank sank back into the ocean.
It's hard to say when exactly the island might resurface. It could be just a couple of weeks, several months, or not at all. But countries are already trying to claim it. Sicilian divers have gone underwater to plant their flag on the island. For now,
we will just have to wait and see if the mysterious island reappears yet again.
