     According to the diagram above, the number of registered volunteers in China has reached 25.11 million. There are already 268 million people providing more than 6.1 billion hours of volunteering service. We can also see the symbol of volunteers-a helping hand formed by a red heart and a peace dove combining together.
     By focusing on young people the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League has met with large success as it encourages young people and others to do what they can now to help those in need. There were many stories of young volunteers who, at great personal cost, helped the victims of the Sichuan earthquake. This tragic event highlighted the need for more volunteers and the response since then has been heartwarming.
     To be able to help others when you have the most free time available and when you are at the peak of health also augurs well for the future, as volunteer work done early in life might well continue through and beyond middle age.

     根据上面的图表，中国注册志愿者人数已达到2,511万名。累计已有2.68亿多人次的青年和社会公众为社会提供了超过61亿小时的志愿服务。我们还可以看到志愿者的标志--一只由一颗红心和一只和平鸽组合而成的援手。
     关注年轻人的共青团中央鼓励年轻人和其他人尽己所能帮助需要帮助的人，获得了巨大的成功。我们听过很多年轻志愿者的故事：他们为帮助四川地震的灾民付出了巨大的代价。这次不幸的事件急需更多的志愿者；自那以后，志愿者纷纷积极响应，这着实令人欣喜。
     在自己业余时间最充裕、身体也最健康的时候帮助他人预示着一个美好的将来，因为年轻时提供的志愿服务很有可能会延续到中年时及中年以后。
