A destructive earthquake struck Sichuan Province on May the 12th，2008，claiming tens of thousands of lives lost and making more homeless．Immediately，people both at home and abroad lent a helping hand to the victims，donating money or volunteering to work in Sichuan．We，senior high school students also took part in the donation．An activity to collect donations for the victims was held on May the 19th in the hall of our school classroom building．

With the posters on the display board，the touching moments attracted many students．At noon，many students without having lunch queued in the hall．With the moving songs being sung，all the students wore a heavy expression on their faces．I joined the queue，waiting quietly．As soon as we reached the donation box，we got our money，no matter how much，out of our pockets and put into the box the sum of money，together with our pray and wishes for the victims suffering in the earthquake．

The donation lasted only 45 minutes，and the total sum might not be that big，but I was completely touched by the strong sense of responsibility of the students．No matter how little we can do，we still make our biggest efforts to help our fellow compatriots．I wish the victims in the earthquake would rebuild their homeland and I believe truthfully and faithfully that Sichuan will be fine and that China will be fine in this incredible year of 2008．
